Come the second (coming)
the Bible thumpers were thumping
their worn-out leather gospels,
the Baptists were baptizing
and singing His praises high,
the evangelists were evangelizing,
the televangelists trading souls.

I was left shrugging my shoulders,
slapping my palm on my forehead,
whispering "Whoops" after "What!?".
